What is P.O.G.?, and where did the name Originate?

... described as our "Triple Fruit from Concentrate".

The Magic of POG: Deep in an Enchanting World beyond the Pineapple fields and rainbow gateways of Hawaii, there's a magical village of which we will keep a secret.

Each day our family of villagers and their young friends gather he trio of fruits

Passion Fruit, Orange, and Guava - and they then make OUR Authentic Hawaiian one-of-a-kind nectar concentrate, affectionately called POG. Before sunrise each morning, they all search orchards across the islands to find the best ingredients, next they swirl in hauʻoli and ka lā, and finally add the secret ingredient unique to our version of POG, the real deal, Authentic and from the historic source. Made by a generation of families , much rooted in traditional Hawaiian family values, and delivered to us in the California region in our now third generation of ice makers. It's the same way we have been receiving all of our impressive 115 Flavor Choices for 10 years now. - a he mea maikaʻi no ko ke ao nei!

It's no wonder each of our Flavors feels like a fun Hawaiian Party just dancing away in your mouth. All three of these flavors in our POG concentrate combine to come alive with every bite of our Shave Ice, which has been a favorite island treat for so many years.

The connection between POG juice, the original POG game, and milk caps can be credited to Charlie Nalepa. He was hired by Haleakala Dairy as a marketing and promotions manager and was known to be the go-to source for milk caps at that time, and was said to give away plenty of them!

Back to the game history for a moment, according to an archived CBS News Report from 1994, and historically speaking, a game name "POG" was created from the use of

stacked bottle caps (or in that time milk caps) from a drink that had

Passionfruit, Orange and Guava, hence the name POG. Now it's served on almost every plane ride to Hawaii, and even every Costco on the island.

Moving forward again in history, With this revival, the POG name began being used generically for game still played by Hawaiian Islanders today.

At the Hui Hui Shave Ice Company, We're sharing with the world POG - For us, it started 10 years ago with a big handshake here, and another handshake there, and we formed a win-win relationship and a 10 year connection for our Authentic Hawaiian Flavor Concentrates, and the ability to offer our Concentrates to you.
